How it all began:

My grandmother was a great baker, who duely passed her artistic flare onto my mother who in turn created many spectacular cakes for friends and family during my childhood and beyond.

So its no surprise that I've had a passion for food and art all my life. 

It wasn’t until the arrival of my chickens "The Supremes" and with over 1300 eggs in their first year I had to find something to do with them all. So Exceptional Cakes was born. Maybe I should have called the business Eggceptional Cakes?  

Exceptional Cakes is a cottage industry run from my own home and all creations are produced in my kitchen. Every one of my cakes are hand made to order and from quality ingredients. I use the best chocolate whenever possible and of course our wonderful free range eggs.  I am registered and have been verified by the Scottish Borders Council food hygeine board and have my level 2 Food Hygeine and Handling certificate.
